The Auxiliary supports the aims and purposes of the American Legion.

Q:  Does Post 558 have an Auxiliary?

A:  No, however, Post 558 enjoys support and comraderie with Auxiliary members from Santa Clara Unit 419 (after the Post 558 Auxiliary closed in 1996).  Membership in that Auxiliary is encouraged to support Post 558 annual crab feed and various veteran and community programs.  When 10 members are active here, the Los Altos Unit 558 will become re-chartered.

Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty on or after December 7, 1941. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?

A:  If your relative served on active duty anytime on or after December 7, 1941, and was honorably discharged, and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the Auxiliary.  If the veteran was not a Legion member and is deceased, you may join the Auxiliary.
